Rainy Season Delights
Look for fresh corn on the cob in the markets now that the rain has come. If you're gastronomically adventurous buy huitlacoche, a cob covered with grey fungus that is delicious. mushroom fans will quickly forget about the appearance. Scrape the huitlachoche off the cob, cut it into pieces and add it to a mixture of sauteed onions, garlic, cumin, and tomato, simmering for ten minutes. If you'd rather, go to the Bossa Nova in Plaza San Fernando, where it's served crepe style.
