Back in Full Swing - How to Know What is Happening
After the usual after-Christmas lull, Guanajuato is full of special events. So how do you know what is happening? You can start by asking for the February cultural agenda at the Tourism Office in Plaza de la Paz. The university puts out its own listing of events, available at the desk at the back of the ground floor of the main university building.
Then there are the hand lettered billboards in front of the Jardin and in front of the Teatro Juarez, very convenient.
Besides, ads and articles in the weekly magazine The Chopper are a good source of information. The Monday edition of the daily newspaper a.m. lists and often describes university events.
The information kiosks near the Jardin and the Mercado Hidalgo close in the afternoons and offer only limited information.
Word of mouth is often the best source of all.
